Some Awsomely Random Meals (& more)

Hello beautiful food lovers! I hope every one's having an outstanding weekend! Tomorrow is already Sunday, the last day of my fast! I'm feeling great and even sleeping better. You may be wondering where all these food pics are coming from when I'm not cooking. Well, I decided to go through my unused photos and found some old yummies! I didn't even realize I had all these pictures. I guess that's what happens when you're in the habit of taking pics of all your food. Do you have tons of food pics saved on your computer? I'm glad I finally get to use some of mine.

Cesar Salad (Vegan dressing, Rice Parmesan), Pasta mixed with Miso Mayo, Bag of frozen organic veggies stir fried with teriyaki sauce. I absolutely love meals like this. Simple and Sweet!

Kya's lunch...Grapes, Ezekiel Bread with cashew butter and organic jelly, broccoli bites.

My husband and I both cooked this meal. Brown rice with Earth Balance Butter, collard greens with God knows what...husband made it...there were pecans and agave involved, that's all we know. Portabellas and broccoli stir fried with ovoo, salt and pepper. More salad.

What time is it?...Shout Out Time!!! Sorry for the major cheesiness but I'm excited about this one! It can't be helped...

I LOVE YOU WHOLE FOODS...Can I bring a pillow? a blanket? move in please? When I drive into your parking lot, I start to lose all concentration...look out pedestrians...look out all you innocent people trying to find a parking space. I have one thing and one thing alone in mind...your fresh produce, yummy oats, isle upon isle of foodie treasure! Then...when it's almost over and I'm passing up the cheese counter, heading to the checkout, there it is...The Salad Bar!!! You never disappoint me Whole Foods, except for that one time there were no Vegan Marshmallows. But other than that, you never disappoint!

I think I've said enough.

Anyone in LOVE with today's Shout Out as much as I am?

Next week's sneak peak...Soup! I will definitely be making some sort of soup. The choice is between Quinoa Minestrone Soup, Split Pea Soup, or Corn & Potato Chowder. How do I pick?!

  1. I absolutely love your blog! Kya is adorable!

I agree. Whole Foods Market is a great place to shop. Most people think that it is so expensive to shop "healthy." What they don't realize (and I think you will agree) is that I find it much cheaper to plan out a weeks worth of healthy meals, make out a list, and then shop for the items on that list. When I check out, my bill is far less than when I go without a plan, and I also have a week's worth of healthy food in my house to cook.

I may not take pictures of the food I cook, but I do take pics of my garden. Just like you, I have a garden filled with fresh veggies. It's my personal "Whole Foods." There is nothing like walking outside in the fresh air and picking lettuce for a crisp garden salad. :)

Thank you for being such an inspiration to all who have an interest in seeking a healthier lifestyle. I will continue to follow your blog and try the yummy meals you post.

    Hooray for the Veggie Side!

  2. Thank you so much! You are so sweet! I know exactly what you mean about the grocery shopping. If I don't make a list, I'll spend a small fortune! :-) I love that you have a garden! It's so rewarding.

AND...OMG yes, I take a picture of probably like 80% of all the foods I cook and eat and don't post most of them, so yeah I have a huge folder on my hard drive of TONS of food pics I never share! Good idea to go back through and post 'em even if they're "old"! ;)

OH and what are those broccoli bites? A recipe of yours? I'd love to try it with Junior... do you feel like sharing? ;)

  6. Brandie, I will cook for you anytime! :-) The Broccoli Bites are from Whole Foods freezer. I believe they have some egg in them so I'm working on a Vegan version. I'll be sure to post it!

  7. Hi Julia, Thanks for stopping by my blog! Of course, I'm also a major Whole Foods fan. The two locations near my house even have a Health Start Here hub with a dedicated specialist to help people learn about changing their diets to a healthier one (ie plant-strong, nutritarian) and that makes me really happy!
